Warranty

Everything Circuit Solar sells carries the manufacturer's warranty. Circuit Solar is a distributor rather than a manufacturer, so we do not add a warranty of our own on top, and we are not able to extend or override what the manufacturer offers. What we do is handle the claim for you.

How warranty works here

The manufacturer's warranty document is the one that governs your equipment. It sets the term, the coverage, and the remedy.

You send us the paperwork, we take it to the manufacturer or the distributor, and we follow it up. That is a service we provide rather than an obligation we owe, and the manufacturer decides the outcome.

Typical coverage

Terms vary by brand and by product, and the manufacturer's own documentation is the authority. As a general guide for the equipment we carry:

ProductWhat is usually covered
Solar panels A product warranty covering materials and workmanship, and a separate, longer performance warranty covering output degradation over time.
Inverters and microinverters A manufacturer product warranty, which can often be extended at the time of purchase.
Batteries A term warranty and a throughput warranty. Coverage ends at whichever limit is reached first.
Racking and mounting A structural warranty, conditional on installation in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Balance of system Cabling, connectors, and accessories vary by manufacturer.

Please check the datasheet or warranty document for your specific product. We can send it to you if you cannot find it.

Register your equipment

Registration can affect your coverage

Some manufacturers require registration or commissioning records within a set period after installation for the full warranty term to apply. Missing that window can reduce your coverage. If your product requires registration, please complete it as soon as the system is commissioned.

Filing a claim

Please send us the following.

  • Your order number
  • Serial numbers of the affected units
  • Photographs of the equipment, the fault, and the installation
  • The installation date, the installer, and the site address
  • Error codes, screenshots, or monitoring data if the product reports them
  • A description of what happened and when it started

The more complete this is on the first submission, the faster it moves. Manufacturers routinely reject incomplete claims, and each round trip adds weeks to the process.

What warranty does not cover

Coverage generally does not extend to the following.

  • Improper, non-compliant, or unlicensed installation
  • Unauthorized modification or repair
  • Misuse, or operating equipment outside its published specifications
  • Damage in transit or handling, which is a freight claim with a 48-hour deadline
  • Cosmetic marks that do not affect function
  • Weather, animal, or vandalism damage
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions or maintenance requirements

If your equipment was damaged in shipping rather than in service, please see our shipping and delivery page instead. That process has a much shorter deadline.

Costs a warranty claim does not include

Unless the manufacturer's warranty specifically covers them, you are responsible for freight, removal, reinstallation, labour, travel, lift or crane costs, and recommissioning. Very few manufacturers in this industry cover labour. We are not able to reimburse labour, downtime, or lost production.

Warranty is not a return

A warranty claim does not entitle you to a refund, a return, or an exchange. Returns have their own conditions and their own 30-day window, and are handled through our returns page. Items that are final sale remain final sale regardless of a warranty claim.

Discontinued products

If a product has been discontinued, the manufacturer may resolve a claim with a functionally equivalent substitute rather than an identical unit. If a manufacturer ceases operations or stops honouring its warranties, we are not able to assume that warranty ourselves.

This page is a plain-language summary provided for convenience. The Circuit Solar Sales Terms and Conditions govern every order, and where this page and those terms differ, the terms apply. Warranty is governed by Section 10, and your responsibilities around installation, permits, and code compliance are in Section 11.
