Mounted or Stand-Alone Rain Gauge (Optional)
Sensors & Options
Global Irradiance
The irradiance sensor is adjustable and can be set to provide global irradiance. Choose up to three irradiance sensors.
Plane-of-Array Irradiance
A separate plane-of-array sensor is supplied with a mounting bracket to attach to the side of the PV panel. It is not adjustable. Choose up to three irradiance sensors.
Back-of-Module Temperature
These sensors are attached to the back of the PV panel using thermal conductive adhesive tape. They provide accurate panel temperatures, an important parameter for efficiency monitoring. One sensor is shipped with each system. The PVMet 500 supports three sensors if desired.
Ambient Air Temperature
The ambient air temperature sensor is housed in a passive solar shield for increased accuracy.
Wind Speed and Direction
A mini-aervane anemometer provides both wind speed and wind direction information.
Relative Humidity Sensor
Includes a built-in relative humidity sensor.
Barometric Pressure Sensor
Includes a built-in barometric pressure sensor.
Ultra-Sonic Anemometer
This ultrasonic sensor has been designed without moving parts to avoid mechanical failure and ensure reliable operation. The sonic wind–vane/anemometers show very stable results over the long term and with little-to-no maintenance required. Every LCJ sensor is fully tested before shipping.
Mini Aervane Sensor
Our mini aervane utilizes an internal, contact-free magnetic system that provides constant horizontal wind tracking, leaving no mechanical parts to wear out over time and require replacement. Sturdy construction can withstand the most aggressive conditions from – 40º ~ 140º F. Each sensor is individually tested before shipping.
Rain Gauge Sensor
The RainWise Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge has an extra-large 8” diameter collector that meets the NWS (US) specifications for statistical accuracy. Every tip of the bucket is hand calibrated to count one-hundredth of an inch of rainfall.
